SURJ Calling In Workshop August 21

This 3 hour Calling In workshop is designed to help white people take up the charge of calling in other white people as part of SURJ’s overall mission of moving white people to act as part of a multi-racial movement to end white supremacy and build a racially just society. Anyone can of course call in and everyone is welcome. 

The workshop is designed to increase participants' ability to engage in effective conversations about race and racism in ways that call people to action. We will consider the defensive moves white people often display to derail conversations about race, learn tactics to shape those conversations, and apply those lessons to practice scenarios in group and partner role plays. Participants should leave the workshop with tools for calling more white people into the movement for racial justice.” 

Notes about participation: This is a relatively small, participatory workshop with discussion and breakout groups. Please plan on using video and audio throughout and attending at a time you can be fully present.
